Site Performance Manager - Mining Key Accounts

The Site Performance Manager is responsible for the full scope of operational support provided by Blanchard Machinery Company at OceanaGold’s Haile Gold Mine, which includes both surface and underground mining operations. This position will align and partner with OceanaGold to achieve shared objectives while advancing Blanchard Machinery’s goals. The key areas of focus include parts and service operations, rental equipment management, technology integration (MineStar), new and used machine and attachment sales, and financial accountability for the site. This role serves as the primary onsite representative for Blanchard Machinery and reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

Parts and Service Sales & Support:

• The primary focus of this role is equipment management. Key responsibilities include maximizing customers’ machine uptime at the lowest cost by quoting new, used, re-manufactured, and rebuild options for Caterpillar and competitive machines and components to ensure operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

• Lead the on-site service management team and support key quarry and aggregate customers in the local area, focusing on maximizing technician productivity during equipment repairs and preventive maintenance.

• Ensure availability and timely delivery of parts required for planned and unplanned maintenance and repairs including new, used, re-manufactured, exchange components, and component and full machine rebuilds.

• Maintain proper service documentation, warranty, and labor tracking.

• Accurately budget and manage Kershaw branch financial statements.

Rental Equipment Management:

• Oversee all rental operations specific to the OceanaGold account, including:
  • Ensuring rental fleet is properly maintained and serviced on time as the rental fleet equipment management is the most important aspect of this part of the role and ensures the maximization of OceanaGold’s fleet uptime Blanchard’s return on assets.
  • Quoting new rentals.
  • Coordinating delivery and pickup logistics.
  • Documenting and invoicing rental equipment damages.
  • Managing purchase orders and invoices for all rental equipment (new and existing) through collaboration with our Columbia rental team.

Machine Sales:

• Identify machine sales opportunities within the OceanaGold account.
• Partner with Blanchard’s Machine Sales Manager to develop and deliver competitive proposals.
• Support the sales process through site-based product knowledge and customer relationship management.
• Facilitate machine demonstrations, trials, and walk-around as needed.
• Ensure smooth transition of sold equipment into operations, including coordination of delivery, commissioning, and training.
• Collaborate with internal sales teams and Caterpillar to ensure alignment on the strategic growth initiatives.

MineStar Technology Support:

• Lead the onsite deployment and support of Caterpillar’s MineStar technology, including Terrain and Fleet modules.
• Manage MineStar technicians onsite to maximize mine production.
• Coordinate training and ongoing utilization support for site personnel.
• Collaborate with internal technology teams and Caterpillar to address system enhancements and troubleshooting.

Continuous Improvement Initiatives:

• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement across parts, service, rental, and technology support areas.
• Utilize data-driven insights to improve equipment uptime, reduce operating costs, and enhance overall customer satisfaction.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging feedback, innovation, and performance excellence among team members.
• Participate in strategic planning initiatives to optimize site support structure and adapt to evolving customer requirements

Collaboration, Contract Administration, and Customer Support:

• Serve as the senior onsite representative for Blanchard Machinery, fostering a strong, transparent, and solutions-oriented relationship with OceanaGold personnel.
• Provide routine operational reporting to leadership and participate in site-level planning and review meetings.
• Facilitate regular customer meetings, key performance indicator reviews, and operational updates.
• Negotiate and renew service, sales, and rental contracts annually.
• Collaborate closely with Blanchard’s Accounts Receivable and OceanaGold’s Accounts Payable teams to ensure account integrity and timely issue resolution.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in mining or quarry equipment management operations, service management, and/or fleet operations required.
• Strong technical knowledge of Caterpillar equipment.
• Proven experience in customer account management, contract oversight, and financial reconciliation.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams in a remote or field-based setting.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Caterpillar DBS ERP experience preferred.
• Familiarity with MineStar solutions (Fleet, Terrain, Command, etc.), preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.

Working Conditions

• The physical environment requires the employee to work inside (non-climate controlled) and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. 
• Travel for training and meetings as needed. 
• Required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to injury and/or hazardous materials.
• Position requires employee to be physically present at designated worksite locations.
