Blanchard Machinery is seeking a versatile and motivated Inside Rental Coordinator Intern to join our team in 2026! As an Inside Rental Coordinator Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting a variety of industries—primarily construction, but also mining, agriculture, forestry, electric power generation, and marine power. You’ll assist with operational tasks, project coordination, data analysis, and offer support for industrial, commercial, and governmental clients. This internship runs for a minimum of 12 weeks, with the possibility of extension based on availability.

 

The Inside Rental Coordinator Intern will gain hands-on experience supporting a diverse range of industries, with a primary focus on construction. You will also contribute to projects in mining, agriculture, forestry, electric power generation, and marine power. Serving industrial, commercial, and governmental clients, the intern will assist teams with operational tasks, project coordination, data analysis, and research. This internship will run a minimum of 12 weeks but could run longer depending on applicants’ availability. objectives.

Under the mentorship of experienced professionals, you’ll handle transactions for outside and inside reps via phone, email, and in person. This role is critical to ensuring customer satisfaction and offers exposure to real-world challenges, technical skills development, and professional networking in a dynamic, multi-industry environment. 

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to a positive work environment and promotes the vision, mission and values of BMC.
  • Completes all job responsibilities in a safe manner, promotes and champions a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Supports and builds strong relationships with co-workers to include Outside Sales Team, Inside Sales Team, Centralized Dispatch and Product Support Staff.
  • Act as a resource for Outside and Inside Rental Reps to include machine availability, dispatching, rental agreements, rental returns, and invoicing.
  • Answer phone calls and receive orders by phone and/or email from Outside and Inside Sales; maintain required phone logs.
  • Reserve items for requested time and maintain rental reservation list.
  • Prepare rental forms and contracts.
  • Obtain customer signature and other information as required.
  • Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly contract files.
  • Compute charges based on rental or service rate.
  • Keep current on knowledge of competitive pricing and trends.
  • Collect deposit or payment or record credit charges by maintaining customer charge files daily and balancing daily sales receipts.
  • Ask questions about delivery conditions such as dock heights, narrow streets, etc.
  • Efficiently dispatch machine delivery to and pickup from customers.
  • Notify Sales Team immediately if there are any delivery delays.
  • Achieve rental operational goals including Invoice accuracy, on-time delivery, assigned training Benchmarks.
  • Update/call overdue list daily and alert supervisor of overdue contracts.
  • Assist in resolving customer problems and invoicing problems.
  • Clean showroom and equipment. Arrange showroom displays. Keep shelves organized, stocked and clean.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations in written or verbal form.
  • Comply with government safety requirements and other regulations, as well as store security and report safety violations to supervisors.
  • Attend department, store and safety meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of college experience in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • Availability to work up to 40 hours per week during the internship.
  • Demonstrated competence in the use of computers and software applications.
  • Positive, solutions-oriented mindset coupled with strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal/written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with all levels of employees, management and customers in a positive, professional and effective way.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Ability to use in-house computer systems – with training.
  • Strong creativity and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are essential to the success of this position.

Working Conditions

  • The physical environment requires the employee to work primarily inside but will also require some work outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
  • Required use of personal protective equipment required (all PPE will be provided by Blanchard)
  • Position requires that the employee work on-site at designated location.
  • Requires standing, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, lifting.
  • Seeing, reading, and writing to complete job responsibilities.
  • Use of computers and other forms of technology to complete job responsibilities.
