Overview

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Mining Key Accounts - Site Performance Manager is responsible for overseeing the full scope of operational support provided by Blanchard Machinery Company to OceanaGold at their Haile Gold Mine site, which includes both surface and underground mining operations. This role will work in close partnership with OceanaGold to align efforts that support their strategic objectives while simultaneously advancing Blanchard Machinery’s organizational goals. These goals include driving parts and service sales and operations, new and used prime product and attachment sales, rental equipment sales and service, integrating technology (MineStar), executing contracts, and financial accountability for Blanchard’s Kershaw branch. As the primary onsite representative of Blanchard Machinery, the Site Performance Manager will be accountable for delivering exceptional services, optimizing operational efficiency, and maintaining alignment with OceanaGold’s production goals and contractual obligations. This role will also strategically leverage the branch’s team of service technicians to support customers throughout the surrounding region, maximizing resource utilization and expanding service reach.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to a positive work environment and promotes the vision, mission and values of BMC.
  • Completes all job responsibilities in a safe manner, promotes and champions a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Primarily work at the Haile Gold Mine site in Kershaw, South Carolina unless attending other meetings, training, or customer events.
  • Collaboration and Leadership:
    • Serve as the senior onsite representative for Blanchard Machinery, fostering a strong, transparent, and solutions-oriented relationship with OceanaGold personnel.
    • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure seamless service delivery and alignment with strategic business objectives.
    • Provide routine operational reporting to leadership and participate in site-level planning and review meetings.
    • Work with all divisions and levels within OceanaGold. Examples include safety, maintenance, production, plant, accounts payable, strategic planning, and continuous improvement.   
  • Parts and Service, Sales & Support:
    • Meet customer fleet availability goals at the lowest all-in sustained cost.
    • Lead our service management onsite team while also serving key quarry & aggregates customers nearby by maximizing technicians’ productivity.
    • Ensure availability and timely delivery of parts and labor required for planned and unplanned maintenance and repairs. This includes new, used, reman, exchange components, and full machine rebuilds.
    • Monitor service quality, technician performance, and alignment with OEM standards.
    • Maintain proper service documentation, warranty handling, and labor tracking.
    • Accurately budget and manage Kershaw branch financial statements.
  • Machine Sales:
    • Identify and win machine sales opportunities to OceanaGold.
    • Support the sales process through site-based product knowledge and customer relationship management.
    • Facilitate machine demonstrations, trials, and walk-arounds as needed.
    • Ensure smooth transition of sold equipment into operations, including coordination of delivery, commissioning, and training.
    • Collaborate with internal sales teams and Caterpillar to align strategic growth initiatives.
  • Rental Equipment Management:
    • Oversee all rental operations specific to the OceanaGold account, including:
      • Quoting new rentals
      • Coordinating delivery and pickup logistics
      • Managing purchase orders for all rental equipment (new and existing)
      • Issuing accurate monthly invoices aligned with valid purchase orders
      • Ensuring rental fleet is properly maintained and serviced on time
      • Documenting and invoicing rental equipment damages
  • MineStar Technology Support:
    • Lead the onsite support of Caterpillar’s MineStar technology, including Terrain and Fleet modules.
    • Lead MineStar technicians onsite to maximize mine production
    • Coordinate training and ongoing utilization support for site personnel.
    • Collaborate with internal technology teams and Caterpillar to address system enhancements and troubleshooting.
  • Contract Administration and Customer Support:
    • Ensure all site support activities follow established service contracts and rental agreements.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for all customer-related inquiries and support needs.
    • Facilitate regular customer meetings, performance reviews, and operational updates.
    • Negotiate and renew contracts annually
  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
    • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement in safety, parts, service, rental, and technology support.
    • Utilize data-driven insights to improve equipment uptime, reduce operating costs, and enhance overall customer satisfaction.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging feedback, innovation, and performance excellence among team members.
    • Participate in strategic planning initiatives to optimize site support structure and adapt to evolving customer requirements.
  • Accounts Receivable Oversight:
    • Manage all accounts receivable activities for the Haile Gold Mine site.
    • Collaborate closely with Blanchard’s Accounts Receivable and OceanaGold’s Accounts Payable teams to ensure account integrity and timely issue resolution.
    • Maintain financial transparency and uphold the site's account in good standing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in mining equipment sales & operations, service management, or fleet operations required.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Caterpillar mining equipment and related technologies.
  • Proven experience in customer account management, contract oversight, and financial reconciliation.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams in a remote or field-based setting.
  • Familiarity with MineStar solutions (Fleet, Terrain, Command, etc.) strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP systems a plus.

Working Conditions

  • The physical environment requires the employee to work inside and outside most days. It will require working in non-climate-controlled environments.
  • Position requires employee to be physically present at Haile Gold Mine site most days.
  • Requires standing, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, lifting.
  • Seeing, reading, and writing to complete job responsibilities.
  • Use of computers and other forms of technology to complete job responsibilities
