Overview

he Shop Service Coordinator plays a key role in keeping service operations efficient, compliant, and well-supplied by managing parts returns, organizing and tagging cores, inspecting warranty parts, tracking back-ordered items, and maintaining the tool room and shop supplies. This role also includes inspecting tooling condition and ensuring equipment is organized and ready for use, while supporting the shop, CRC, machine rebuild, and weld departments.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to a positive work environment and promotes the vision, mission and values of BMC.
  • Completes all job responsibilities in a safe manner, promotes and champions a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Parts and Warranty Support
    • Receive and organize returned parts from field and shop service teams.
    • Tag and document core returns for proper processing.
    • Inspect warranty parts for damage, wear, and eligibility.
    • Assist in tracking and updating the status of back-ordered parts.
    • Communicate with parts department and service departments to resolve discrepancies.
  • Tool Room and Shop Supply Management
    • Organize and maintain the field service Tool Conex Room.
    • Maintain organization and cleanliness of the tool room and shop supply areas.
    • Track tool inventory and usage; report missing or damaged tools.
    • Inspect tools for condition and readiness, coordinate repairs or replacements.
    • Restock shop supplies and consumables as needed.
    • Support tool check-in/check-out procedures for technicians
  • General Service Team Support
    • Assist with documentation and labeling of parts and tools.
    • Help coordinate logistics for service jobs requiring special tools or parts.
    • Ensure compliance with safety and customer site regulations.
    • Support service team with miscellaneous tasks to improve workflow and efficiency
    • Assist service team with logistics and coordination as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ years of mechanical knowledge and ability to inspect tools and parts required, service support, warehousing, or tool room management experience, preferred.
  • Basic computer software experience required.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Demonstrates the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced setting while coordinating regularly across departments.

Working Condition

  • The physical environment requires the employee to work primarily inside throughout the day; however, this position may also require working in non-climate-controlled environments as well as outdoors.
  • Required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to injury and/or hazardous materials.
  • Position requires employees to work on-site at designated worksite
  • Requires standing, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, lifting.
  • Seeing, reading, and writing to complete job responsibilities.
  • Use of computers and other forms of technology to complete job responsibilities.
