Paving Product Specialist

The Paving Product Specialist is responsible for understanding and promoting paving products, engaging with customers supporting sales and marketing efforts, providing technical support and establishing themselves as a trusted advisor on all paving products sold. The Paving Product Specialist role supports Blanchard Machinery’s growth and competitiveness objectives.

• Greet and assist all service customers, vendors, and others in a friendly manner direct them to the appropriate person within the Service Department.
• Inform and remind customers about BMC safety standards, ensuring compliance while in the department.
• Participate in and oversee all paver startups in South Carolina and lead all paving product demos for key customers to ensure proper acceptance of all products within the paving family.
• Cultivate and maintain strong customer relationships by proactively communicating and optimizing every interaction to maximize sales opportunities.
• Continuously develop personal knowledge of new paving product solutions by attending supplier training opportunities.
• Provide input and recommendations for training needs for technicians through Blanchard Boost to support the Blanchard Service Department.
• Support machine sales representatives by configuring paving products and guiding them throughout the selling process.
• Maintain relationships with supplier partners and communicate key new product developments, features and benefits to the machine sales team.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or equivalent Bachelor Degree in business-related field preferred.
• 5+ years of related customer service experience preferred.
• Proficient Microsoft office and outlook
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Results are oriented and focused on continuous process improvement.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities; meets deadlines and works well under pressure.
• Must possess a customer centric mindset along with the ability to build strong relationships.
• Strong work ethic and self-starter with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks/priorities and adapt to change.
• Must possess a professional and friendly attitude and be able to quickly develop a rapport with customers over the phone.

• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Working Conditions

• The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
• Required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to injury and/or hazardous materials.
• Position requires employee to work on-site at designated location as well as travel to customer sites.
• Job requires standing, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, lifting.
