Overview

 

The Marine & Industrial Sales Rep is responsible for promoting and selling company products, parts, and service capabilities by calling upon our existing customers and generating new leads for future business.  This position will also be responsible for communicating with our customers, scheduling appointments, and making customer sales calls in the field.

Responsibilities

What you will do:

 

  • Contribute to a positive work environment and promote the vision, mission and values of BMC.
  • Completes all job responsibilities in a safe manner, promotes and champions a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Promote and develop all prime product sales opportunities by developing relationships with OEMs through exemplary customer service.
  • Promote and develop all Pleasure Craft Marine prime product sales and repower opportunities by developing relationships through exemplary customer service.
  • Promote Commercial and Pleasure Craft Marine product support business by creating customer awareness, developing relationships through exemplary customer service, and training customers on the proper maintenance and repair of Commercial Marine, Pleasure Craft, and Marine Engines.
  • Develop and establish new business and a continued positive relationship with our current customer base. 
  • Plan daily sales calls itinerary; make sales calls on existing and prospective customers; monitor/update call lists and manage customer database in sales link.
  • Participate in an ongoing process encompassing goal setting and establishing attainable monthly and yearly objectives in conjunction with his/her supervisor to reinforce continuous improvement and achievement towards company goals.
  • Follow up with customers to ensure the company has met their needs; the service repair is complete and done to the satisfaction of the customer. Maintain good customer relations; intercede to solve problems and disputes; look for ways to enhance customer relations within scope of the company mission statement.
  • Keep current with new products and developments that are relevant to our customers.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties as directed by his/her supervisor and may be expected to represent Blanchard at meetings as directed by his/her supervisor.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Prepare reports and data as requested.
  • Possess personal commitment to continuous professional development and complete all required training.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills required.  Ability to set and keep priorities and professionally handle the stress associated with dealing with a fast-paced industry and time frames.
  • An experienced salesperson with the ability to adapt to the technical or mechanical products our Company represents.
  • Enthusiastic, hard worker with the ability to complete work with minimal supervision.  Must be a team player.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, Computer literacy including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must have strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • High degree of inter-personal skills with excellent written and oral communication skills.  Must possess the personal discipline to establish the proper image as a representative of Blanchard with the ability to meet and work with the customer in a professional manner.
  • Marine Sales or Product Support Sales experience required.
  • Must possess a valid South Carolina driver’s license with less than three moving violations in the past three years.
