Overview

The primary responsibilities of this position involves the inventory of machine and attachment assets for the Sales Division,  in addition to assisting the rest of the service staff, as directed, in their efforts to manage the asset inventory in an efficient manner.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties:

  • Contributes to a positive work environment and promotes the vision, mission and values of BMC.
  • Completes all job responsibilities in a safe manner, promotes and champions a safe and healthy work environment. Promote a culture where the health and safety of our employees and customers is top priority for all.
  • Logistical coordination between BMC Personnel, Customers, Shippers and Receivers and various shops to ensure equipment and attachments are in inventory, in process of repair, or ready to ship. Provide consistent and timely communication to all parties to ensure machines and assets are accounted for at every stage to meet the needs of the customers.
  • Responsible for keeping the Yard clean and well organized to ensure proper placement, access and inventory of machines and attachments. Helps clean and maintain storage are
  • Responsible for new and used machine and attachment inventory on Yard. Controlling inventory check-in and check-out process.
  • Responsible for loading and unloading equipment from internal and external transportation companies.
  • Gather and verify equipment inventory information (contract proofs, equipment additions, serial numbers, etc.).
  • Identify and record equipment components, accessories and asset details.
  • Verify equipment descriptions, based on our Equipment Standards Manual.
  • Ensure the quality of equipment data and other related information.
  • Compose and take photos of the equipment.
  • Assist the Sales team with appraisals and write-ups in the field between peak periods.
  • Assists with various physical tasks as directe
  • Light mechanical duties required for securing loads.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be able to operate various types of construction equipment to assist in loading and unloading from transport vehicles. Previous forklift operating experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in equipment management (inspections, inventory and appraisals) and/or inventory control management, preferably in the auction or heavy equipment business.
  • Knowledge of industrial and/or agricultural equipment, trucks and trailers.
  • Proficiency using computers, MS Office Suite products (Word, Excel), DBS, Lotus Notes and digital cameras
  • Organizational and time management skills required. Must have the ability to set and keep priorities and professionally handle the stress associated with dealing with a fast-paced industry and deadlines.
  • Must be a Team player that is enthusiastic and hard working with the ability to complete work with minimal supervision.
  • High degree of interpersonal skills with solid written and oral communication skills is required.
  • Must possess the personal discipline to establish the proper image as a representative of Blanchard Machinery with the ability to meet and work with the customer in a professional manner.
  • Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and be detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy. 
  • Must possess valid driver’s license with no more than two citations in previous 36 months.
  • Knowledgeable and skilled in the safe use and maintenance of hand/yard tools.
  • Able to work over time as requested.

  Working Conditions:

  • The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside (non-climate controlled) and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
  • Required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to injury and/or hazardous materials.
  • Job requires standing, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, lifting.
  • Must be able to lift varied weight up to 50 lbs unassisted.
  • Ability to maintain all safety standards while working on the ground or at heights and accessing customer equipment.
  • Seeing, reading, and writing to complete job responsibilities.
  • Use of computer and other forms of technology to complete job responsibilities.
